Home Lab Topology

Networking Setup & Configuration

Within my Home Lab, I've established a robust infrastructure consisting of multiple segmented networks interconnected by a pfSense Firewall. Multiple Switches are also included in this setup enabling many devices to connect. Firewall Rules govern traffic flow between the separate subnets. This includes a separate subnet for my external-facing and internal VMs on my Proxmox Cluster. This lab also includes a GNS3 VM that virtualizes a Palo Alto Network (View the Topology for further details).

Virtualization & Web Servers

Multiple Servers are running on a highly available five node Proxmox Cluster. The storage for this cluster is provided by a dedicated TrueNAS server allowing for shared storage by all nodes. VMs run directly on this storage as well as allowing for weekly backups. A few of VMs include webservers hosting components of the rjserver.net domain including my personal resume website - www.rjserver.net - via Cloudflare Tunnels. Some servers are also hosted via cloud providers. In order to allow for CI/CD, the code for my websites is hosted in my personal GitHub repository and allows for updating the website's code from anywhere. Some other VMs/Containers include Home Assistant, Homepage, Apache Guacamole, Ansible, Grafana, GNS3, Pi Hole for DNS, and a Monitoring docker container called Kuma.
